Questions such as why human beings were created, and why certain events occur as opposed to others, and why someone had to die and not another, can not be answered by the human mind in and of itself. A simple reason is the fact that human beings are not even able to uncover the mysteries of their own brain! The human mind is only able to identify existing rules, which Allah has put in nature, and use them to come up with new connections. That is why Allah,

the One and Only Perfect Creator of the universe, has sent messengers, Prophets (peace be upon them all) since the beginning of time, from among the best of human beings, to guide human beings…

How can Islam be a Solution to Contemporary Problem? And How Come Women Can not be Nation Leaders in Islam? Why?

I was once given an advice from one of my tutors, he told me never to argue too much in the details, first get the fundamentals: Belief in Allah... Because once you believe, you will submit and follow. And even though there are rationalizations for Shari'a (Islamic Jurisprudence) rules (Maqasid Ash-shari'a) , yet not everything has to be rationalized. Believers say "We listen and we obey" ("Same'na wa ata'na”). This is true submission. You can always ask why forever (why five prayers not six or seven or ten, why 2.5%, why why why...)... These are acts of worship which have to be taken as is... Now in answer to your question: Why can't women act as Imams? It is primarily because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No nation shall succeed that is led by a woman" (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). And then we can also note the issue of Gender Equity (not equality) in Islam. Here's an interesting article by Dr. Jamal Badawi on that which I think he later developed as a book:

This excerpt might help you understand true submission further as well:

“We as Muslims have to follow the practice and guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), as Allah commanded and ordered us to do: (O you who believe, obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you. And if you are in dispute over any matter, refer it to Allah and His Messenger if you are actually believers in Allah and the last day. That is better for you and more seemly in the end) (An-Nisa’ 4: 59).

Almighty Allah also says: (It is not for a believer, man or women, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger he has indeed strayed into a plain error) (Al-Ahzab 33: 36).

Allah Almighty says: (And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it and whatsoever he forbids you abstain (from it). And fear Allah, verily, Allah is severe in punishment) (Al-Hashr 59:7).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever commits an act that does not conform to our matter (religion), then it will be rejected of him.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “I have left among you two matters, that if you adhere to them, you will never be misguided: The Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet.”

He also said, "All of my nation will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” His Companions asked, "Who would refuse?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) answered, "Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me has refused (to enter Paradise).”

All these verses and Prophetic sayings emphasize following the path and guidance of Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) if we want to have Allah's mercy and blessing in this life and in the Hereafter.

I particularly like Dr. M. Siddiqi's answer to that as well. Here it is:
